Interesting facts about the organic Hericium powder

At GAMU, we always use the whole, matured fruiting body of the medicinal mushroom Hericium. The mushrooms are first harvested from our Chinese contract farms and then cleaned. Any unsuitable mushrooms and mushroom parts are carefully removed at this stage. The next stage in the production of Hericium powder is drying.

The valuable medicinal mushrooms are always dried particularly gently and slowly in accordance with our specifications. Taking your time is a decisive factor for first-class mushroom products. Only slow drying at low temperatures below 40 degrees guarantees that the valuable vital substances of the Hericium mushroom are almost completely preserved.

Top quality with care

Careful grinding is another basic requirement in order to maximise the organic availability of Hericium powder for our customers. Thanks to the particularly fine grinding (grain size less than 0.125 millimetres), the human body can absorb and break down all active and vital substances such as polysaccharides, polypeptides, amino acids, minerals, vitamins and pro-vitamins particularly well. This type of processing is possible thanks to the shell-broken process we use. This process describes the very fine grinding that breaks down the cell walls of a mushroom in order to fully release the ingredients. The result is then tested in the laboratory.

We source Hericium exclusively from China, the traditional producer country for most medicinal mushrooms. This is because the country has unique expertise in handling mushrooms that goes back thousands of years. China is also the leading pioneer in the cultivation and processing of medicinal mushrooms. Both traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese cuisine demonstrate the extraordinary appreciation of mushrooms in East Asia. Tradition and care are combined with innovation and a spirit of research.

We produce our organic hedgehog goat's beard powder according to the original recipes of our founder, the well-known mycologist Prof Dr Jan Lelley. He is regarded as one of the pioneers of medicinal mushrooms in Europe.

Ingredients:

The powder is made from dried and ground Hericium fruiting bodies.

Fresh Hericium mushrooms provide plenty of potassium (254 mg), phosphorus (109 mg) and hardly any sodium (8 mg) per 100 g. Hericium contains all the amino acids essential for humans. And 32 substances that are solely responsible for its flavour. There are also plenty of polysaccharides and polypeptides in the hedgehog spiny beard.

We produce dried, ground Hericium from fruiting bodies of the mushroom. The mushroom fruiting bodies come from certified organic cultivation (DE-ÖKO-003). Experts also check the quality of the powder in our laboratories. And take it very seriously. One pack contains 90g of powder. The powder is also available in 1000g packs on request.
