Interesting facts about Reishi powder

Reishi powder is recommended for anyone who wants to utilise the powers of the reishi mushroom. Reishi is a pure medicinal mushroom that is not eaten raw, fried or cooked, even in Asia. The main reason for this is that reishi simply tastes very bitter. In addition, the mushroom is hard and therefore not very or not at all suitable as an edible mushroom. In any case, you won't be missing out on any flavour if you don't eat it. And you are unlikely to find fresh reishi in supermarkets or Asian shops.

In East Asia, too, reishi powder is the only product relied on due to its bitterness and hardness. It is particularly popular in China, Korea and Japan.

What is reishi powder used for? Traditional Japanese and traditional Chinese medicine have relied on the potential of the powder for thousands of years. It is said to bring balance and relaxation. In recent years, Western alternative physicians, healers and mushroom experts have also recognised the potential of this amazing medicinal mushroom. However, the reishi mushroom or reishi mushroom powder is simply considered a foodstuff in Germany. A possible healing effect would have to be confirmed in extensive and very expensive scientific studies.

Reishi has been used in Asia for around 4000 years, although in Japan it was reserved for the imperial court for a long time. However, its positive properties have also long been known in our part of the world. Hildegard von Bingen, for example, described this mushroom in her work. We are also aware of the many uses of rice shi, which is why we use the powder and extract for our products.

The powder is made from dried and ground reishi fruit bodies.

Composition:

The most important substances in the fruiting body of reishi are polysaccharides, amino acids, fats, alkaloids, vitamins and minerals. The minerals in the shiny polypore include magnesium, calcium, zinc, manganese, iron, copper and germanium. Triterpenes are an important group of substances: scientists have found so-called sterols in the mycelium of the shiny polypore, as well as more than 100 other triterpenes.

We produce dried, ground reishi from the fruiting bodies of the mushroom. The mushroom fruiting bodies come from certified organic cultivation (DE-ÖKO-003). In addition, experts carry out strict quality controls in our laboratories. One tinplate can contains 75g.
